Weekly HUG #0040: Curate Artist Discovery on HUG

You have the power to impact and influence which creators join the hundreds who are already getting HUGGED

At HUG, we believe curation is the future of the creator economy. That's why we've curated the most important news and updates on what we're doing, building, and perfecting just for you!

Curate Artist Discovery on HUG

Your vote matters. No really, it does!

HUG is a community-curated platform. That means every creator that we showcase is chosen by fellow artists and collectors like you. Artists on HUG can create shareable, searchable, customizable profiles to promote themselves and connect with their community through hugworthy reviews… but only after they’re curated onto HUG by positive votes.

Our community has voted in over a hundred artists this week, and we can’t wait to see who will be getting HUGGED next! Better yet? Huggers earn HUG Points for every vote they make, which will come in handy for surprises we have in store 🤗

✨Celebrating Black Creators✨

February may be Black History Month, but did you know you can discover, support, & celebrate Black Creators all year long? HUG was founded on a mission to 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙚 through working directly to elevate and spotlight marginalized creators. The HUG platform is just one of the ways we seek to accomplish that goal, where you can find, filter, & leave reviews for creators & causes you care about:

😇 Happy Anniversary, Meta Angels 😇

A little over a year ago, Meta Angels first manifested onto the blockchain, generating joyful art and a meaningful community along the way. We took a sentimental look back at all the angelic accomplishments on this anniversary and celebrated by giving away free Meta-Angels to community artists.

Did you know… HUG literally wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for Meta Angels? Our founders Randi Zuckerberg and Debbie Soon met in the Meta Angels Discord and then decided to work together. This makes Meta Angels union with HUG all the more special, and we’re lucky to have Meta Angels cofounder, Alex, join us as HUG’s COO & Head of Product.

💜 Safe Spaces with Vanora Vaz 💜

Our February Artist-in-Residence Vanora Vaz is known for injecting subtle whimsy into her imaginative illustrations of safe spaces. Vanora’s creative practice invites observers to analyze how the physical spaces we retreat to can influence and represent the relationship we have with our own mental health. What does your safe space say about you?
